“Nier: Automata” is one of the most well-received games of early 2017, but it’s not without its flaws. Unfortunately, these flaws, along with other issues, were also carried over to the PC version.

The most prominent issue for the game is the resolution bug. Any resolution chosen will produce a squished image with two thick bars present on either side of the screen on fullscreen mode.

One dedicated fan decided to take things into his own hands rather than wait for Platinum Games and Square Enix to release a patch.

Steam user Kaldaien created the FAR mod (Fix Automata Resolution) to address the resolution issue that Nier’s makers curiously overlooked. The mod forces the game to display a full 1080p resolution rather than the stretched 900p that everyone else is getting, reports Kotaku.

Others have also created different mods to address the game’s other issues, such as intermittent frame rate jumps from 30fps to 50-60fps.

These fan made fixes should help most people to get by while Square and Platinum work on releasing an official patch. In the meantime, players can pass the time acquiring the achievement that requires “admiring” the android 2B’s posterior. Alfred Bayle/JB
