Square Enix MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV is opening up its doors to more potential players by removing the cap for its free trial period.
Initially limited to 14 days, a recent game update has set the free trial period to unlimited playtime. As an added bonus, players who went on the 14-day free trial period but did not purchase the full game will be able to continue playing where they left off.
However, free trial players will still be under the same restrictions and game limitations stated on the Free Trial Terms.
Current players may also take advantage of the “Recruit a Friend Campaign” where they can earn special items for the number of friends that they recruit into the game.
While playing free trial has some drawbacks, letting people play for free longer should work well to convince them to purchase the full software down the line. JB
