The 2013 disaster film “Sharknado,” along with its sequels, received poor reviews due to its seemingly absurd plot of sharks emerging out of water spouts.
Although the film has become some sort of a comedic punch line, a real-life “sharknado” scenario actually occurred in the Australian state of Queensland.
The aftermath of the Cyclone Debbi left a 5-foot-long lifeless shark in a puddle near the flood waters in the town of Ayr.
A photo of the sea predator was uploaded by the town’s official fire and emergency Twitter page, as it laid motionless while covered in mud.
“Think it’s safe to go back in the water? Think again! A bull shark washed up in Ayr. Stay out of floodwater,” the department wrote along with the hashtags #TCDebbie and #ifitsfloodedforgetit.
Meanwhile, heavy rains continue to pour in the region, while several emergency operations were conducted to save those trapped from intense flooding in some areas.
The Ayr department did not disclose how they would dispose of the sea creature. Khristian Ibarrola /ra
