“I am like the final boss of a RPG. One day a hero will come to defeat me and release a new game. I often try to imagine what kind of game it will be.”
These are some of the words of the man behind “Nier: Automata”, Yoko Taro, who recently guested in the popular Japanese web and TV show “toco toco TV”.
The short interview sees Taro talk about his own creative process and ‘Nier: Automata’. Viewers are also given a glimpse of a place that holds great importance to Taro’s life and career. In this case, an arcade filled with vintage pinball machines.
“Nier: Automata” is the latest game installment in the Nier franchise. It was released last February 23 for the PlayStation 4. A PC version was later released in March 17.
The game was developed by Square Enix and PlatinumGames, two game companies with high-profile titles under their belts, namely the Final Fantasy franchise and the Bayonetta series, respectively. JB
