The third instalment of the acclaimed simulation mixed martial arts game EA Sports UFC will come out early 2018, announced Electronic Arts.

According to Polygon, the intense fighting franchise will be available to all major console platforms, and could be purchased in stores sometime between January and March next year.

The company, however, has yet to release details regarding the new game, but might show a glimpse of the game’s features at the upcoming EA Play event at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, on June 10 to 12.

The first EA UFC game—which featured light heavyweights Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson on the cover—debuted in 2014, while its sequel UFC 2 came out in 2016.

At the time, UFC 2 cover athletes Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor were at the top of their games, but their aura of invincibility came to a halting crash after suffering defeats against Holly Holm and Nate Diaz, respectively.

Since then, Rousey has suffered a second consecutive knockout defeat, while McGregor avenged his loss and currently holds the UFC Lightweight title. Khristian Ibarrola/JB
