Ever wonder what pilots see when they fly long hours over the ocean? You’re in luck because pilot Sales Wick is also a photographer and film producer.

Being far above the sources of light pollution, stars as well as the stunning Milky Way galaxy could be easily seen. Below the vast galactic view are lights from cities and other aircraft flitting across the sky.
“Just as the bright city lights are vanishing behind us, the Milky way starts to become clearly visible up ahead. It’s now us, pacing at almost the speed of sound along the invisible highway and the pitch-black night sky above this surreal landscape,” writes Wick on his website.

“Ahead of us are another eight hours flight time, but we already stopped counting the shooting stars. And we got already to a few hundred,” Wick writes. Alfred Bayle/JB
