The Moto Z smartphone range will get a new member when the Moto Z2 Play lands a little later this year, accompanied by a new selection of add-on modules, bringing boosted audio, speedy charging and optimized portable gaming.
Lenovo will soon drop a new slimmer and more lightweight version of its Z Play smartphone, sporting a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED screen and loaded with a 2.2 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 processor.
The main camera boasts a laser autofocus (up to 5 meters) and “dual autofocus pixel” technology promising clearer and sharper photos, even in low light. The manufacturer also promises up to 30 hours battery life and TurboCharging for eight hours of usage from a 15-minute charge.
The phone will launch alongside a new set of “Moto Mods” external models for boosting specific performances.
The most spectacular add-on is unquestionably the Moto GamePad, which turns the handset into a veritable portable console with its two joystick controllers and various buttons, offering an authentic gaming experience.
The JBL SoundBoost 2 is a stylish and waterproof kickstand speaker for high definition audio while the Moto TurboPower Pack can instantly add an extra day of battery life and/or recharge the battery in a flash.
Pricing and availability for the Moto Z2 Play are yet to be announced. JB
