The duel started out strong for the Japanese when Kuratas dashed across the battlefield and scored a strong punch against the American robot. This knocked down MegaBots’ IronGlory robot and ended the first match in an instant.

The second match ended as somewhat of a draw when both robots got locked in a clinch. However, MegaBots’ EaglePrime robot managed a few long range hits with its canon before the Kuratas got in close. Kuratas had launched its drone as a distraction, then tried to hit EaglePrime with its massive left arm before both machines got stuck together.

For the third and final match, it was a full on melee. MegaBots swapped out EaglePrime’s canon with a high-powered chainsaw meant for cutting apart rocks. The exchange in blows got so intense that the commentators had to flee from their box to avoid getting crushed under falling debris.

Kuratas tried to pummel EaglePrime with its rapid-fire paintball gun but the American robot blocked this attack with a rotating steel beam which it picked up from the set.

The match ended when EaglePrime got in close enough to start ripping the Kuratas’ gun arm to shreds with a chainsaw. EaglePrime’s size advantage worked wonders over the smaller Kuratas.

And thus the first ever giant robot duel concluded with the Americans taking the first win. As the wait begins for the next giant robot duel, expect modifications to be made and more rules to be set in place. Fans can also expect Japanese pride to help the team recover and perhaps prevail.
