A Japaense boy has captured netizens’ attention, thanks to a video of him doing the “Bubbly Dance” which became a hit in Japan around September.
On a post by Twitter user @bknb0402, the boy managed to remember a lot of the intricate moves which were included in the dance routine. It’s a feat which may prove challenging even to older and more experienced dancers.
The post, as of this writing, has gained over 400,000 likes and 100,000 retweets.
The dance routine originated from the Tomioka Dance Club of Tomioka High School in Osaka Prefecture. The girls based their dance on Japan’s economic bubble of the 1980s, which explains the big hair and big clothes worn when performing the dance. They dance to the song “Dancing Hero” by Yoko Oginome.
The dance had been created as an entry for two national high school competitions, one of which they won, and the other had them declared as runners-up.
Their dance quickly gained popularity online through two YouTube videos of their performances where each earned over 5 million views.
