Google is progressively updating the design of its online services. After Gmail, the firm’s cloud-based file storage and synchronization service, Google Drive is the latest to receive an interface overhaul.
While functionality currently remains unchanged, certain buttons and icons have moved. The user interface is also refreshed in line with Google’s latest material design principles, echoing the more streamlined look already rolled out to Gmail.
Notable aesthetic changes include a new Google Drive logo in the top left of the screen, a white background, an updated “New” button, and a new font for the headers.
The update is available to all G Suite editions and rolls out imminently. JB
