A curious white parrot investigating a CCTV traffic camera in Australia recently added itself to the list of cutest things to see on the internet.
Footage of the parrot went online, June 1, on Queensland’s Department of Transport and Main Roads Facebook page.
The clip lasted for only around thirty seconds, but it was enough to garner over 3.4 million views and over 62,000 shares, as of this writing.
The video started innocently enough with a view of a mostly empty roadway. Shortly after, something started to peek over the camera’s top portion. A few seconds later, the parrot’s head came into full view.
The bird tried to peck at the camera’s lens a few times. It then twisted its head to one side so that one of its eyes could get a better look.
Parrots are known to be intelligent and curious; it’s why they usually get taken in as pets. Some species are even able to repeat words and phrases taught to them by their owners.
Earlier this year, a video of another parrot went viral. It showed a cockatiel parrot which copied the iPhone ringtone, after it figured out that the sound always caught its owners’ attention. JB
