The Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) has partnered with Google to improve its broadband services and wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi) in the country.

Last June, PLDT teamed up with Google to launch Google Wifi which can create the “fastest fixed broadband network” and “seamless home internet experience.”

“A mesh networking system consists of several points that allow Wi-Fi signals to penetrate strategic parts of your house. This way, you can enjoy consistently strong and fast Internet on all of your Wi-Fi enabled devices and smart appliances at every corner of every room,” PLDT said in a statement on Wednesday.

Google Wifi was introduced in 2016 and was released in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore.

The Google Wifi Plan 3799 can now be availed. It has an unlimited 50 millibytes per second connection with three Google Wifi points and free service assistance from the PLDT Home Geek Squad.

PLDT added that if the customer has availed the internet plan PLDT Home Fibr, they can simply avail the Google Wifi units as an add-on for P589 for a set of two or P799 for a set of three.

Google Wifi, which also works with Google Wifi App, is available on Android and iOS which allows easy set-up of network and management of settings.

The Google Wifi app enables the user to see the devices connected to the Google points and how much bandwidth or capacity of the wireless network each device is consuming.

The app can also be used to assign more bandwidth to specific devices and manage online usage at home through creating scheduled pauses on a device’s connection.

Google Wifi also ensures that the connected devices are always connected with the strongest Wi-Fi signal. This allows the user to still be connected online without internet interruptions amid moving around the house.
