Customers with older iPhones will get more value for their device if they decide to upgrade to Apple’s 2018 line of smartphones, namely the iPhone XR and XS.
The rates for old iPhones can be seen on the Apple GiveBack webpage. The chart also shows a price comparison with the previous trade-in promo.
Based on the chart, iPhone 6 series owners will get the biggest bang for the buck after the credit doubled from the initial offering. Credit increase for turning in an older iPhone gradually goes down starting with the iPhone 7. Owners of the iPhone 8 only got a $25 (about P1,300) boost from the initial credit offering of $275 (around P 14,500).
The 2018 iPhones are priced $749, $999 and $1,099 (P50,000, P67,990 and P74,990) for the XR, XS and XS Max respectively . The discounts generated by trading in an older iPhone doesn’t appear to be much, but with those prices customers would need every bit of financial help they can get to own Apple’s latest smartphone.
The GiveBack promo is currently available to United States customers. As of this writing, the Philippine webpage has yet to mention whether old iPhone trade-ins will be available to Filipino customers. /ra
