MANILA, Philippines — Google has rolled out a new app — simply called Google Go — that will allow smartphone users to make easier web searches without heavy data usage.
Simon Takumine, Google’s group product manager for search, revealed that Google Go is a new artificial intelligence-powered app for the internet, which helps new smartphone owners to discover websites and apps easily.
With Google Go, it only takes less than 5MB for downloading, and search results are “optimized to save up to 40 percent data.”
Further, Google Go allows users to access information from 13 categories, such as news, sports, education, and jobs.
Finally, Google Go also allows users to listen to web pages as an AI will identify the rights parts of a web page to read aloud.
It will also allow loading websites quickly and reliably, especially when using a device with a low random access memory (RAM) or can only access a 2G connection.
This feature enables users to consume long-form text easily.
It can also help with multitasking — for example, following a recipe while preparing a meal or catching up on the news while commuting. /atm
