HP launches A+ campaign to inspire creativity in Filipino students

MANILA, Philippines – Bringing together the power of innovation and education, HP ushers in its pioneering A+ campaign that empowers Filipino students to achieve academic excellence in school with the help of HP’s latest innovative imaging and printing technologies. Together with a full roster of year-long, youth-enriching activities, the campaign will leverage the HP Ink Advantage printers in cultivating children’s potential and improving their learning experience through affordable, reliable and high-quality prints for their school projects and other academic requirements.

Inspiring creativity among the youth

A major component of the A+ campaign is Write&Read, a collaborative story-writing program that HP is launching with the Department of Education-National Capital Region that aims to inspire creativity in Filipino students. The program spreads the inspiration through CNN Hero of the Year and Lakandula Award recipient Efren Peñaflorida as its campaign ambassador, who championed youth literacy through the Dynamic Teen Company “kariton” classroom to educate children in far-flung areas of the country.


“We look forward to this meaningful partnership with HP. Through Write&Read, we will be able to work hand in hand in enriching the learning experience of children and inspire a growing interest in writing and reading, two of the most important and fundamental skills in education,” said Dr. Milagros Quiñones, English Supervisor,

“Education is life-changing, and writing and reading is where it all starts,” said Efren Peñaflorida. “It is through is through colorful prints that students are able to appreciate and embrace education even more as it will embrace them back and enable them to change their lives for the better.”

Open to grades 4 to 7 and high school students from March 1 to May 30, 2012, the competition is set to recognize Metro Manila’s top 10 young writers who will join the ranks of young Filipino authors. The competition will also publish a book compilation of the winning short story entries.

To further hone the youth’s talent in creative writing, HP will launch a series of creative writing workshops nationwide that will feature interactive lectures and activities for students.
