In the Philippines, Ford pioneered the mini SUV segment with the launch of the EcoSport in 2014. The new EcoSport features enhancements in terms of exterior and interior design, smart features and driver-assist technologies (DATs), and fuel efficiency.

This includes Automatic Headlights, Rear View Camera with Rear Parking Assist, Rain Sensing Wipers, Hill-Start Assist Control, Electronic Brake-force Distribution System, Electronic Stability Program, and Anti-Locking Brake System. It has also up to six airbags in the Titanium variant.
Another great enhancement is the SYNC® 3 with Navigation that allows drivers to keep driving while staying connected. With SYNC® 3, you can use voice control for the entertainment system and make calls or text messages.
Probably the centerpiece of all its breakthrough enhancements for the EcoSport, Ford recently introduced two engine variants for the vehicle: the award-winning 1.0L EcoBoost and the new 1.5L Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing (TiVCT).
EcoBoost is Ford’s most technologically-advanced engine to date, producing more power while consuming less fuel through its direct fuel injection technology and variable camshaft timing with turbocharger. Meanwhile, the upgraded 1.5L engine features TiVCT (a more powerful version of the previous 1.5 EcoSport engine). Also, Ford introduced the new 6-speed Automatic Transmission of the EcoSport, which helps improve efficiency, and gives smoother and faster acceleration.
