A man in Bengaluru, India was arrested after a woman he met on Tinder complained of having been led on and used for sex by him.
Twenty-nine-year-old Rama Reddy matched with a woman he worked with at a private tech firm on Tinder, as reported by Bangalore Mirror last Tuesday, June 18. The woman told authorities she felt forced to have sex with him and that he misled her into believing he wanted a serious relationship.
The two exchanged messages and went on with their online relationship for a month. As per the woman’s complaint, Reddy invited her into his apartment on June 3, and forced her to have sex.
“When I met him on Tinder, the accused pretended to be nice and decent but he just wanted a physical relationship with me and had no feelings for me. After we had consummated our relationship at his apartment, he said that I forced him to do so,” the woman said in the report. “That’s not true. It was he who forced me to sleep with him instead.”
When she proposed marriage to him, he rejected it because he “was not ready for a commitment.” A week later, the woman pursued Reddy in an attempt to change his mind. He refused her again and blocked her mobile number.
“These types of incidents should not be repeated with other people using dating apps. Women should not be used as a source of physical pleasure,” the complainant added. Reddy since been taken into police custody. Hannah Mallorca/JB
