PCOO Instagram account hacked
MANILA, Philippines — The Instagram account of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) was hacked on Wednesday, but was restored the same day.
The verified @pcoogov Instagram account, which has 18,900 followers, briefly showed two posts that featured videos of camels, including a sign for the King Abdulaziz Camel Festival.
A text written in Arabic along with a camel emoji also appeared on its biography page.
JV Arcena, the PCOO assistant secretary for global media and public affairs decried the “malicious act by unknown individuals,” and said that Facebook, which owns Instagram, had locked the account when the hacking was discovered.
