To support the artists and creatives who make up its musical library, the company announced Wednesday that it has launched the Spotify COVID-19 Music Relief project, an initiative designed to support those who have been financially impacted by the coronavirus outbreak.

The music streaming service has partnered with organizations that provide relief to musicians like MusiCares, PRS Foundation and Help Musicians.

In addition to making donations to these organizations, Spotify promised to “match donations made via the Spotify COVID-19 Music Relief page dollar-for-dollar up to a total Spotify contribution of $10 million.”

Along with these efforts, a donation feature is in the works that artists on the platform will be able to put on their profiles, allowing fans to directly donate to the artist’s verified funding page—the company confirmed that they will be claiming no share of the donations.

Lastly, artists making music on their own will have access to Spotify’s creator tools like SoundBetter and Soundtrap at reduced costs.

The company will continue to publish updates about these tools and benefits  as they are made available. IB /ra
