Manila Water subsidiary launches new sewage treatment plant
MANILA, Philippines—Manila Water Infratech Solutions (MWIS), a subsidiary of Manila Water that provides products and services for water and wastewater projects, is piloting a new technology designed to provide effective wastewater treatment for small and medium settings.
Dubbed the i-Tech Packaged STP (Sewage Treatment Plant), the new technology is designed to meet the growing demand for modern infrastructure. This compact and robust sewage treatment plant integrates cutting-edge membrane bioreactor (MBR) technology into a user-friendly packaged system.

The treated wastewater is also suitable for water reuse, helping reduce environmental impact and improving sustainability.
With a daily processing capacity of 10 cubic meters, it can accommodate wastewater requirements for small to medium-sized communities, industrial facilities, or remote locations. Since it is compact, it requires low maintenance and allows easy, plug-and-play installation, especially designed for confined spaces.
“We continue to explore new methods and create innovative solutions with the goal of delivering lasting impact for the communities we serve, as well as to care for the environment where we get our resources,” said Jose Paulo Serias, general manager of Manila Water Infratech Solutions.
MWIS also provides consultancy, engineering and design, procurement and supply of materials, equipment and technology, and construction management services for water and wastewater projects.
