Optimus bots wowed the crowd during Tesla’s “We, Robot” event after CEO Elon Musk unveiled his Robovan prototype.

They walked out alongside the self-driving vehicle and performed a dance number. Then, they went to their booths to prepare and serve drinks for guests.

However, some attendees of the October 10 event argue that the robots have human assistance, suggesting they’re not fully autonomous.

They said the robots walked on stage after the Robovan reveal. Then, Musk claimed, “The Optimus will walk amongst you.”

“You’ll be able to walk right up to them, and they will serve drinks.” Next, he claimed the robots can “do anything,” such as walking your dog and taking care of your kids.

Gizmodo reports some in attendance weren’t convinced of the Optimus’ potential, such as tech evangelist Robert Scoble.

He posted on X that the Optimus bots have human assistance, meaning they’re not fully autonomous.

Scoble tested his claim by asking, “Hey Optimus, how much of you is AI?”

“I can’t disclose just how much. That’s something you’ll have to find out later,” the robot allegedly replied.

“But some or none?,” Scoble asked.
