Gigantamax Pikachu marches to Pokemon GO

LAPU-LAPU CITY, Philippines — Following the release of Gigantamax Meowth, the much-anticipated debut of Gigantamax Pikachu is set to happen on the last Saturday of the month, March 28, 2026. 

To help you prepare for its debut, here is everything you need to know.

Gigantamax Pikachu Max Battle Day

As with all the Gigantamax debuts in Pokemon GO thus far, Gigantamax Pikachu will have its own Max Battle Day. 

On March 28, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, Gigantamax Pikachu will appear in six-star Max Battles. 

Unfortunately, just like in the Pokemon Sword and Shield games, Gigantamax Pikachu caught in Pokemon GO cannot evolve into a Raichu. 

Despite that, if you’re lucky enough, you can still encounter a shiny version of Gigantamax Pikachu.

Gigantamax Pikachu Max Battle Day bonuses

As with all events in Pokemon GO, there will be many active bonuses during the Gigantamax Pikachu Max Battle Day. Here are the bonuses players can enjoy during the event:

• Max Particle collection limit increased to 1,600
• All Power Spots will host Gigantamax Battles
• Power Spots will refresh more frequently
• Additional Power Spots will be active
• 8× Max Particles from Power Spots
• Up to three Special Trades for the day
• From March 27 at 5:00 p.m. to March 28 at 8:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −8), the daily Remote Raid limit will increase from 10 to 20

Furthermore, the following bonuses will be active on March 28, 2026, from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time:

• 2× Max Particles from exploring
• 1/4 Adventuring distance to receive Max Particles

If those bonuses are still not enough, players can also opt to buy paid features for the Gigantamax Pikachu Max Battle Day.

For approximately PHP ₱300, players can access an event-exclusive Timed Research. The Timed Research rewards are as follows:

• 1 Max Mushroom
• 25,000 XP
• 6,400 Max Particles

Additionally, players who opt to buy the event ticket will also receive twice as much XP from Max Battles.

This paid Timed Research will be effective on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.

Furthermore, a Pokemon GO Web Store exclusive Gigantamax Pikachu Max Battle Day Ultra Ticket Box will be available for PHP ₱300, which includes an event ticket and a bonus Premium Battle Pass.
