Google encourages users to go beyond prompts like “nearest destinations.”

Now, users can ask Search in a more personalized tone with prompts such as, “Can you find nearby hangout spots that aren’t too crowded, have great food, and are only a short walk away?”

To demonstrate this, Google’s Search Day sent Gen Z participants outside the office to use AI Mode and Search Live.

Organizers grouped participants to create Search-powered travel itineraries around BGC inspired by different countries.

“This initiative is a follow-up from the round table that we did in April,” said Mervin Wenke, Head of Communications and Public Affairs of Google Philippines.

“We wanted to create an experience wherein Gen Z creators will really put the AI search to a test, and we’ll really see firsthand experience of using it to design a travel itinerary amongst other things,” Wenke added.

Search Day further emphasized Gen Z’s use for Search Live. The feature has Gemini detect and analyze the image in view.

Google created Search Live to serve as a shopping assistant, cooking companion, and tool for defining objects or landscapes.
