Netizens celebrate Independence Day with #PinoyMoments101

MANILA, Philippines — What better way for Filipino netizens to celebrate Independence Day than to commemorate traditional Filipino customs?

From pointing directions with their lips, to resting their feet on the chair while eating, or just eating with their hands, Twitter users joked about Filipinos’ actions perceived as normal on a daily basis, trending the hashtag #PinoyMoments101.

Netizens took to humor Filipinos’ way of conversation – the indirect answers of “Papunta na (On my way)” to the plain question “Saan ka na (Where are you?)” or the answer “Kahit saan (Wherever)” to the question “Saan ka kakain? (Where will you eat?)”

Some customs were just downright disgusting – one Twitter user posted about the way Filipinos pass wind without admitting it, or sometimes while blaming others.

Users also commented on Filipinos’ behavior while commuting in a jeepney – how the jeep conductor invites more passengers in an already teeming vehicle, or how commuters refuse to pass on the fare of other passengers.

How about you, what do you think is a “Pinoy” moment?
