WATCH: Blizzard releases two animated short videos for new shooter-game, ‘Overwatch’
Blizzards entertainment has released the second in a series of four promotional animated videos ahead of the launch of their latest multiplayer-shooter ‘Overwatch’.
The six-minute video tells the story of French assassin Amélie LaCroix, who goes by the moniker ‘Widowmaker’. One of her special abilities, ‘a grappling hook’, is heavily featured during the story’s arc.
It also show’s the protagonist’s affinity with spiders—which she lauds for their killing instinct and inability to feel emotions.
An earlier trailer tells the story of different character, a genetically engineered gorilla and a brilliant scientist named Winston.
The 8-minute video clip, however, feature’s the character’s attempt to regain the long lost days of his heroism.
Meanwhile. the new franchise will give its users a Multiple Online Battling Arena (MOBA) experience, where players can choose from 21 different heroes, each with their own unique personality and history.
Two more such videos are expected before the game’s release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on May 24. Khris Ibarrola, INQUIRER.net
