First VR porn festival shut down due to over-popularity

What may very well be the world’s very first VR porn festival was shut down prematurely due to its unprecedented popularity. Image INQUIRER.net

As virtual reality makes its steady way into the mainstream market, it is also seeing its fair share of popularity in the pornography industry. It’s so popular in fact that an event dedicated to VR porn was shut down recently.

The event was held sometime in June in Akihabara, Japan, where the porn industry is big business. Japan is also known for producing a wide variety of quirky technologies that suits various needs.

One of the displays in the event featured a very unassuming cardboard box with a hole in the middle. When a hand is pushed into the hole, a system tracks its movements and responds by blowing air into the right places to simulate the feel of a female breast, reports The Next Web.

The festival had to be prematurely terminated due to the enormous mass of attendees and concerns over a possible riot due to overcrowding. Alfred Bayle
