Despite the rise of multiple gaming apps in recent years, Supercell’s hit strategy game “Clash of Clans” has remained a popular choice among mobile gamers.

In an effort to keep the game fresh and enticing for users, the Helsinki-based company has released its latest update, which allows users to compete in “friendly wars” against any clan of their liking.

Prior to the tweak, players had no control over match-ups and were only allowed to battle randomized enemy bases and clans.

With the new feature, any two clans can take part in a customized war, either for fun, for practice or simply for bragging rights, according to a GameNGuide report.

To issue a friendly war challenge, users simply need to search for a clan and then tap the corresponding button to request another clan to a match. To be eligible, interested clan leaders must opt by toggling “yes” in their clan profile.

The challenging clan will be allowed to set the terms of duration and number of members before issuing the request. War durations could span from a minimum of 1 hour and a maximum of 24, while war sizes could range form five versus five to 50 against 50.

Supercell has decided that these friendly wars will not reward winners with war loot or Clan XP, and only the attacking clan castle troops will be consumed with each attack.

Aside from the new battle feature, the patch also introduces a variety of new content and balance changes including:

  • Introducing the Bomb Tower at Town Hall 8!
  • New troop levels: Dragon, Baby Dragon, Wizard.
  • New defense Levels: X-Bow, Mortar, Hidden Tesla.
  • 25 more wall pieces to Town Hall 11.
  • Lots of upgrade costs and times reduced.
  • Rebalancing, including Witch and Skeleton Spell buffs.
  • Clan Wars loot and Clan XP rules revisited.
  • Continued balancing changes to Clan Wars matchmaking.

The update also introduces a more convenient way of training army troops. Check out the full instructional video below.  Khristian Ibarrola
