Globe Telecom to exclusively carry Nokia Lumia Windows Phone
MANILA, Philippines—The Ayala-led Globe Telecom Inc. has been chosen as the exclusive carrier of the much-awaited Nokia Lumia Windows Phone, the first product of the Finnish mobile phone maker’s partnership with software giant Microsoft.
In a statement, Globe announced that it has been taking pre-orders for the Nokia Lumia 800, the latest smartphone running on Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system. The first set of Lumia devices will be delivered on April 16.
Article continues after this advertisementGlobe subscribers can avail themselves of the Nokia Lumia 800 for only P1,499 a month, bundled with unlimited mobile browsing and call and text “freebies” that can be changed every month.
The new device features mobile Internet browser Internet Explorer 9, free maps and voice-guided navigation services, and free Internet image and file storage. The new Lumia features 16 gigabytes of internal storage plus five gigabytes of storage on the Internet “SkyDrive,” a 3.7 display, an 8-megapixel auto-focus camera with HD video recording, corning ®Gorilla glass screen and a Carl Zeiss lens.
The phone, which looks to compete directly with the popular Apple iPhone and Android-based smartphones, comes in Cyan and Black colors.

Globe said the new Lumia, once coupled with Globe’s competitive telephony and mobile data offerings, would provide customers with the best experience possible.
“This latest smartphone is best paired with our customizable My Super Plan UnliSurf Combo Plans, which provide users with unlimited and worry-free mobile browsing, call and text freebies plus boosters to boot,” Globe postpaid head Martha Sazon said.
“On top of that, we guarantee 24/7 access to all our customer service channels and after-sales support for the devices,” he said.
