Apple unveils smaller iPad, the iPad mini

SAN JOSE, California—Apple unveiled a smaller version of the iPad on Tuesday, venturing into the market for smaller tablet computers dominated by Amazon, Google, and Samsung.

“This is iPad mini,” Apple’s senior vice president for marketing Phil Schiller said as he displayed the new iPad at an Apple event in San Jose.

“This isn’t just a shrunken down iPad,” Schiller said. “It is an entirely new design.”

The iPad mini’s touchscreen measures 7.9 inches diagonally compared to 9.7 inches on the original iPad.

Apple also unveiled a fourth generation of the original iPad on Tuesday and the California-based company said it has sold over 100 million of the devices in two and a half years.

Apple set the tablet computer market ablaze with the first iPad in early 2010 and stuck with its 9.7-inch screen while rivals introduced lower-price tablets with screens closer to seven inches.

Amazon’s seven-inch Kindle Fire proved popular last year, and a new version was launched last month.

Meanwhile, a Google Nexus 7 powered by Android software joined the Samsung Galaxy in the seven-inch tablet market.

I’m confused.  This article says that Apple also unveiled a fourth generation of the original ipad.  so dalawa yung nilabas ng Apple?  the Ipad mini and the Ipad 4th gen?

Yeah, probably you are the one of those iPad users who look like idiot, disconnected from the real world, and  like a stupid who shakes their iPad while in the train.

        Not cool.

      • generalproblem

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_XZYL65T5BZ6Z3LQYLXUD3VJL6U Snoopy S

tsaka wala talag akong pambili nito…kasi kung may pambili ako nito gaya dati….bad investment…hindi kumikita ang pera ko…mabuti na yung pera ko na lang ang nagtrarabaho para sa akin…ikaw what do you do?

      • generalproblem

Snoopy ok yang ginagawa mo parang ako nag invest din siguro nga lang kumikita yung investment ko sayo hindi. ang bottomline dito ay hindi mo kailangan mag comments tungkol sa mga tao na bumibili nito na mga pasosyal lang o mga feeling pa sosyal. if you know how to utilize the product magagamit mo yan para ma monitor kung ano man ang investment mo. kahit pa 5/6 ang negosyo mo mgagamit mo pa din yung calculator nyan para kwentahin ang tubo mo. hindi nararapat ang comments mo mas maganda pa wag kana mag comments kasi maraming naiirita sayo.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_BL2GYU35SO6HTJUEAUTXS3QFYM George Lapulapu
