/ 10:04 AM March 21, 2017

A gnarly and gigantic chicken suddenly shows up, comes out of its coop, and poof—it drove the entire social media flock nuts.

On Sunday, Twitter user Lifesbook_Ceo shared a video of this “big boss” colossal enough to scare away human beings. In just two days, the tweet was shared 35,500 times. As of this writing, shares have climbed to 48,800. Coincidentally, Facebook page Press of World shared it, saying that the clip was taped by user Fitim Sejfijaj at a barn located at Kosovo. It has been streamed 97 million times on the site.

A flock of social media users was left stunned, and even perceived the video to be another feather of “fake news.” Some asked if the chicken was a man in a costume, another optical illusion or the real-life version of Ernie the Giant Chicken from the animated sitcom “Family Guy.”

FEATURED STORIES

“When you see it at this size you can really imagine how they’re the cousin of dinosaurs. Sh*t reminds me of Jurassic park,” one user quipped.

“I’m pretty sure this is the chicken from Family Guy,” a quirky Facebook user pointed out.

The monster bird shown in the wacky video is known as a Brahma chicken and dubbed the “King of Poultry.” It originated from Shanghai but is now bred across the United States.

According to the Livestock Conservancy, Brahma chickens usually grow up to 10 pounds (4 kilos) for hens and 12 pounds (5.4 kilos) for roosters. However, there are documented cases wherein Brahma hens peak up to 14 pounds (6.3 kilos) while their male counterparts can weigh up to 18.25 pounds (8.27 kilos).

In 2013, one Brahma bird in Essex, United Kingdom, was branded as the “world’s tallest cock” with a height of 26 inches.  Gianna Francesca Catolico /ra
