This week in video game trailers: ‘The Lion’s Song’, ‘Leap Day’, ‘The Sims’, and more

From a mobile launch and PC conclusion to Austrian historical adventure “The Lion’s Song”, a bright and bouncy update to 2016 success “Leap Day”, the PC version of kinetic action shooter “Strafe”, and “The Sims Mobile” soft launch on Android, there’s plenty to catch up on in the week ending May 12, 2017.

The Lion’s Song (complete season teaser)
Making the jump from Windows PC to iOS and Android, and heralding the arrival of a complete season on both platforms, this episodic adventure follows the crossing paths of a handful of early 20th century Austrian creative geniuses. Leap Day Anniversary (update)
Has it really been a year? iOS and Android hit “Leap Day” presents players with a new level every 24 hours and, celebrating its one-year anniversary, has poured a week’s worth of updates into the game, featuring hot air balloon rides, candle soldiers, mushroom men, jungle plants and fruit bats among them. Vanquish PC Announce (trailer)

Clash of Clans: Captain’s Log Day 3

The Sims Mobile (soft launch trailer)

Strafe (official movie trailer)
Channellng retro first-person shooting through the lens of modern technology, the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC game Strafe launched its successful crowdfunding campaign with a spoof ’90s advert and, upon its May 9 release, returned with a movie send-up reminiscent of sci-fi and slasher movies of years gone by. Endless Space 2 – Expand
Preparing for a May 19 launch after seven months in Steam’s Early Access program, in this trailer the grand space strategy lays out its interpretation of one of four central tenants underpinning the 4X strategy genre: explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate. Video link: youtu.be/a_6_Ep_PGtE.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies Chronicles (gameplay trailer)
