IT foundation supports Philippine relief efforts

HP has announced that the HP Company Foundation has committed $50,000 to the relief efforts carried out by the Philippine Red Cross in providing assistance to those affected by Typhoon Bopha (Pablo), which caused extensive damage in Southern Philippines last December.

Samsung to buy part of British electronics firm

South Korea’s Samsung Electronics said Tuesday it had signed a deal to buy a mobile technology unit belonging to British firm Cambridge Silicon Radio (CSR) in a bid to improve its handheld devices.
