Wildlife’s funny side captured by finalists of photography awards
Nature has a sense of humor too!
The Comedy Wildlife Photography awards announced this year’s finalists last Sept. 10. Forty-four photographers are contending for the overall winner’s prize, which consists of a trophy, a safari in Kenya and a camera.
Professional photographers and conservationists Paul Joynson-Hicks and Tom Sullam created the awards to make wildlife conservation more engaging. They hope that humor and positivity will turn interest into action when it comes to protecting animals, Sullam told Bored Panda.
Below are 10 of the 44 finalist photos. Sullam said that they were supposed to be only 40, but he and his team could not just leave out four of the submissions.

Sullam said that to the team’s surprise, they received the highest turnout for submissions despite the coronavirus pandemic this year. Photos of the 2020 finalists can be viewed in the awards’ website.
The announcement of winners will be on Oct. 22. Niña V. Guno /ra
