The former head of the Israeli Space Agency has claimed that extraterrestrials exist and that a “Galactic Federation” is secretly working with the United States and Israel governments.

Dr. Haim Eshed, 87, who served as Israel’s space chief from 1981 to 2010, disclosed the information in an interview with the country’s biggest for-pay newspaper, Yedioth Aharonoth, as per Jewish Press on Dec. 5.

“The aliens have asked not to announce that they are here, humanity is not ready yet,” he was quoted as saying.

On why it took this long for him to disclose such information, Eshed noted, “If I had come up with what I’m saying today five years ago, I would have been hospitalized. Wherever I’ve gone with this in academia, they’ve said: the man has lost his mind.”

“Today they’re already talking differently. I have nothing to lose. I’ve received my degrees and awards, I am respected in universities abroad, where the trend is also changing,” he added.

Eshed, a three-time recipient of the Israel Security Award, holds a master’s degree in performance research and a doctorate in aeronautical engineering. Two of the said awards were given to Eshed for confidential technological inventions, according to the report.

The former space chief claimed that the secrecy was due to the aliens themselves asking the US and Israel governments to stay silent as “humanity is not ready yet.”

“The UFOs have asked not to publish that they are here, humanity is not ready yet. Trump was on the verge of revealing, but the aliens in the Galactic Federation are saying: Wait, let people calm down first. They don’t want to start mass hysteria. They want to first make us sane and understanding,” he was quoted as saying.

“They have been waiting for humanity to evolve and reach a stage where we will generally understand what space and spaceships are. There’s an agreement between the US government and the aliens. They signed a contract with us to do experiments here. They, too, are researching and trying to understand the whole fabric of the universe, and they want us as helpers,” he added.

Eshed also claimed that there is “an underground base in the depths of Mars, where their representatives are, and also our American astronauts.”

In the interview, Eshed also claimed that incumbent US President Donald Trump almost revealed the existence of aliens, but refrained after being told by the supposed Galactic Federation not to.

“Trump was on the verge of revealing, but the aliens in the Galactic Federation are saying: Wait, let people calm down first. They don’t want to start mass hysteria. They want to first make us sane and understanding,” he was quoted as saying.

Eshed’s interview came just after his book, titled “The Universe Beyond the Horizon – conversations with Professor Haim Eshed” was released.

In his nearly 30 years of leading the Israel Space Agency, which he co-founded, Eshed oversaw the launching of over 20 Israeli satellites.

Eshed’s claims come just a few months after Pentagon released videos showing encounters with Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs). It is not confirmed, however, if these were extraterrestrial in nature.

The US and Israel governments have yet to respond to Eshed’s claims as of this  writing. Ian Biong /ra
