30,000 sites linked to child abuse blocked

/ 05:12 AM July 10, 2021

PLDT Inc.’s fight against online child abuse gained ground after the telco giant blocked almost 30,000 links and sites hosting explicit content involving minors as of June this year.

PLDT, with subsidiary Smart, said the campaign ramped up following its membership into the United Kingdom-based Internet Watch Foundation (IWF).

IWF’s members include tech giants such as Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, Google, Telefonica and Vodafone. —Miguel R. Camus
