Elon Jet, The Twitter Account That Tracks Musk’s Flights, Got Permanently Suspended
Twitter permanently suspended the Twitter account @ElonJet, which follows publicly available data to track the whereabouts of Elon Musk’s private plane.
The recent decision came a month after Musk said he would not ban the account to show his commitment to free speech.
Jack Sweeney owns Elon Jet and other accounts that monitor the flight activity of other celebrities. However, Twitter did not ban those, even the other one that tracks Elon Musk’s brother, Kimbal Musk.

Before he took over Twitter, Elon Musk wanted to get rid of the account. In January, the Tesla CEO requested Jack Sweeney to delete the Elon Jet account for $5,000.
The latter declined that request and provided a counteroffer:
“Any chance to up that to $50k? It would be great support in college and would possibly allow me to get a car maybe even a Model 3.”

“My commitment to free speech extends even to not banning the account following my plane, even though that is a direct personal safety risk,” Musk stated on November 6, 2022.
On December 2, Sweeney tweeted information from an anonymous Twitter employee. The worker told him that the platform limited visibility for the Musk flight tracker account.
Moreover, he posted a screenshot allegedly leaked from Twitter’s internal Slack channel. It seems to show Trust and Safety VP Ella Irwin asking her team to immediately apply high visibility filtering to @ElonJet.
A writer for The Intercept named Jon Schwarz sent an email to Irwin to confirm the authenticity of the leaked screenshot.
She has not responded, and Elon Jet got permanently suspended. Consequently, Schwarz said, “I guess we can assume it was.”
Conclusion
Schwarz retweeted the recent Elon Jet suspension and its screenshot along with the following caption:
“One way you could predict Elon Musk would not actually support free speech once he owned Twitter was his lifelong opposition to free speech.”
