The South Korean tech giant said all its businesses would match their energy needs with renewables by 2050.

The Device Experience Division will fully transition to renewable energy by 2027 and achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2030.

Moreover, Samsung announced that its smartphones and TVs use recycled materials, such as plastic from discarded fishing nets.

Its home appliances and 5G radio network chipsets help customers save energy. Also, Samsung’s SmartThings Energy and AI Energy Mode provide further savings.

The CES 2023 keynote announced a partnership with outdoor clothing leader Patagonia to combat microplastics.

Vincent Stanley, Director of Philosophy at Patagonia, said the two companies had developed a new wash technology called the Less Microfiber Cycle.

He said it could reduce microplastics released in a laundry cycle by 54%.

Moreover, they recently developed the Less Microfiber Filter that prevents microplastics from escaping into the ocean.

James Kwon, Product Manager and ENERGY STAR for the US Environmental Protection Agency, announced a special achievement by SmartThings.

He said it is the first mainstream Smart Home Energy Management System to earn the esteemed ENERGY STAR SHEMS Certification.

Have you ever noticed how many wires you need when setting up your home theater system? Samsung announced a wireless solution at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show.

It unveiled the LG Signature OLED M3, which reportedly connects wirelessly to audio and video accessories. Still, you will have to plug it into a power outlet.

Jasper Vervoort, Senior Vice President and General Manager at Philips Hue, shared more connectivity features for Samsung TVs.

Vervoort discussed the Philips Hue Sync TV app, which synchronizes Samsung TV content with Philips Hue lighting.

The company says it is the first sync lighting solution from Samsung TV that requires no additional equipment.

Specific Samsung Neo QLED 8K and 4K TVs will also gain Relumino Mode in 2023. It highlights outlines and improves contrast to improve picture quality.

The Samsung CES 2023 event also featured the Relumino glasses that personalize the visual experience on each screen.

Also, the CES 2023 keynote featured the SmartThings Station, the first Samsung product to have built-in support for smart home standard Matter.

It turns Samsung’s wireless charger into a smart home hub that lets you shift your home with a single button.

The tech giant sees the potential security and privacy issues from connecting more devices than ever. Consequently, it came up with Samsung Knox Matrix.

It saves sync credentials across devices and secures them via private blockchain technology. Moreover, Marcus Futterlieb from HARMAN explained how Samsung would keep drivers safe.

HARMAN Ready Care will use machine learning algorithms to measure their drowsiness and distraction. Thus, it could help motorists regain their focus on the road.

The Samsung CES 2023 event revealed many of the company’s upcoming products and services, such as new TVs.

Yet, it has affirmed its commitment to achieving carbon neutrality and sustainability by reducing microplastics released by its devices.
