This article will show you the best flip phones of 2023. It will not recommend foldable smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4.

  1. Nokia 2720 Flip
  2. Kyocera DuraXE Epic
  3. Prepaid My Flip 2 4G
  4. Jitterbug Flip2 Cell Phone

Let us start with a well-known classic brand: Nokia. Nowadays, it is rare to see someone using one of its devices, but that person will catch your attention with the unique clamshell design.

It offers the sleek, minimalist design you would expect from the Swedish brand. The Nokia 2720 Flip shows a simple clock and date indicator when closed.

Open it, and you will see a large keypad and a wide screen. Moreover, the 2720 Flip is perfect if you are tired of Android and iOS because of its proprietary KaiOS.

The Nokia 2720 is one of the most sought-after flip phones due to its 4G LTE support. It lets you access reliable connectivity to the internet for streaming videos and sending messages.

As a result, the 2720 Flip offers the best of both worlds. It gives you a sleek retro design with essential modern features.

2. Kyocera DuraXE Epic (Renewed)

Flip phones are still prominent in Japan, so it is no surprise to see the latest models from that country. Case in point, Kyocera offers one of the most rugged flip phones on the market.

The DuraXE Epic follows the Military Standard 810G, which makes it resistant to numerous conditions:

  • Temperature extremes
  • Solar radiation
  • Salt fog
  • Shock
  • Vibration
  • Low pressure
  • Freeze-thaw
  • Humidity
  • Icing
  • Freezing rain

The Kyocera flip phone is drop-proof up to five feet or 1.5 meters. Moreover, it has a rubberized housing that enables a tight grip and enhances durability.

You may store a lot of media inside with its 16GB of internal storage and MicroSD card slot for an additional 512GB of storage.

Then, the Kyocera DuraXE Epic can blast your tunes loud and clear with its 100+dB front-facing speakers.

More importantly, it offers nine hours of talk and up to 18 days of standby time. This smartphone also offers Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.

However, the weak 5MP auto-focus camera might put off some users. If you want a sturdy and simple flip phone, the Kyocera DuraXE Epic is the ideal option.

Only the refurbished version from Amazon Renewed is available at the time of writing. A brand-new one costs roughly $249.99.

3. Alcatel Prepaid My Flip 2 4G

More than a thousand five-star Amazon reviews recommend the Prepaid My Flip 2 due to its simplicity.

According to satisfied users, this Alcatel flip phone offers essential features, such as calls and text messages.

Yet, the Prepaid My Flip 2 has a quad-core processor and built-in GPS, parts you would expect from smartphones.

It has 4G LTE support, letting you send videos to your friends quicker than 2G or 3G networks. Also, the Prepaid My Flip 2 offers 16 days of standby time.

The only major downside is the weak speakers. Still, this Alcatel flip phone is a good choice if you want a simple phone.

4. Jitterbug Flip2 Cell Phone

Some people have no time to keep up with the latest smartphone models. Instead, they only want a phone that lets them call and text reliably.

Lively heavily advertised its Jitterbug Flip2 as the perfect flip phone for older people. Once you see its design, you will see why.

It has a wide screen, large buttons, a simple list-based menu, and a powerful speaker. As a result, seniors could easily see the display and input commands.

The powerful speaker lets them use the built-in Amazon Alexa support for easier control. Moreover, it has a dedicated urgent response button for summoning emergency services.

Even better, Lively teamed up with Lyft to provide users with a 24/7 car service. The Jitterbug Flip2 is the perfect gift for your grandparents.

5. Alcatel GO FLIP V

The Alcatel GO Flip V came out in July 2019, but it still competes with modern flip phones. Similar to the Jitterbug, it prioritizes accessibility.

It has a large keypad that helps you input words easily. On the other hand, you could use the  Real-Time-Text (RTT) feature to transmit messages as you write them.

The Alcatel GO Flip V also has a full-color 1.44-inch external display that lets you check calls and messages without opening the phone.

It uses Verizon’s 4G LTE network to support voice-over Wi-Fi. Moreover, it can share online connectivity by serving as a hotspot for up to 10 devices.

Note that this flip phone is only available in the US and exclusive to Verizon. Also, it has a weak camera and a disappointingly limited storage capacity.

Some people are tired of keeping up with the hectic annual launches of smartphones. In response, they look for the best flip phones that deliver a simpler phone experience.

Believe it or not, stocks for these gadgets are running out, so it would be best if you purchase one immediately.
