The feature has existed for decades, and it continues in the latest Windows versions after all these years. However, many don’t know how to revert or unzip files, leading to many inconveniences worldwide.

Fortunately, zipping and unzipping files has never been simpler as Windows 11 lets you do it in a few clicks. Also, you may do it with other features and third-party applications.

  1. Right-click on your desired file or folder.
  2. Next, click the Extract All option.
  3. Click the Browse button to specify the location where you want to extract the ZIP file’s contents. 
  4. Then, click Extract to confirm.

Another is to use File Explorer, the built-in program for organizing digital files:

  1. Press the Windows and the E key to open File Explorer. 
  2. Then, search and choose the ZIP object you want to unzip.
  3. Click the Extract All option from the top toolbar.
  4. Choose where you’ll put the extracted files and click the Extract button.

You can also extract a specific file from a ZIP folder via File Explorer:

  2. Right-click the file you want to extract.
  3. Next, select the Cut or Copy option from the context menu.
  4. Choose a destination folder where you want to extract files.
