AI Seoul Summit to be held in May 2024
Artificial intelligence challenges the world to adopt new technologies to gain benefits and minimize risks. However, it cannot be done alone.
People must collaborate to ensure AI is a global positive force. This can be done by engaging in meaningful dialogue regarding its trends.
The United Kingdom and South Korea recognize this demand; thus, they will host the AI Seoul Summit on May 21 and 22, 2024.
What to expect from the AI Seoul Summit?
AI News reports the event will feature a virtual leaders’ session with South Korean President Yook Suk Yeol and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
Then, it will hold an in-person meeting among digital ministers. The co-hosts are Korean Minister of Science and ICT Lee Jong-Ho and UK Technology Secretary Michelle Donelan.

As mentioned, it will ensure that AI trends benefit humanity while minimizing risks. “The summit we held at Bletchley Park was a generational moment,” Donelan said.
“If we continue to bring international governments and a broad range of voices together, I have every confidence that we can continue to develop a global approach which will allow us to realize the transformative potential of this generation-defining technology safely and responsibly.”
Minister Lee Jong-Ho emphasized the importance of the Seoul Summit:
“AI is advancing at an unprecedented pace that exceeds our expectations, and it is crucial to establish global norms and governance to harness such technological innovations to enhance the welfare of humanity.
“We hope that the AI Seoul Summit will serve as an opportunity to strengthen global cooperation on not only AI safety but also AI innovation and inclusion, and promote sustainable AI development.”
