Meta AI chatbot now available in India
The Meta AI chatbot is now available in India, but it only supports English at the time of writing. However, it heralds artificial intelligence’s (AI) prominence in daily life.
The social media network’s new AI tool became part of Indian WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and meta.ai.
The first four are some of the most widely used online apps, which means Indians will now use AI more frequently. Eventually, this program will become part of your life, too.

The official website says the Meta AI bot uses Llama 3, the company’s most advanced large language model. This artificial intelligence will add new capabilities to the Zuckerberg company’s programs.

For example, the AI will enable WhatsApp to recommend restaurants with vegan options and a nice view to your friends’ group chat.

The Meta AI chatbot can “imagine” the aesthetics you want for your first apartment to help you renovate. Moreover, it adds new features to your Facebook feed.
You may ask Meta AI to provide more information on a post. Let’s say you saw a photo of an aurora in Iceland. Ask Meta AI when you can see this phenomenon, and it will recommend dates.

Did you receive a stunning image from your friends? Ask the bot to animate the image and turn it into the perfect wallpaper. The social media company initially opened access to the Meta AI chatbot in the following countries:
- Australia
- Canada
- Ghana
- Jamaica
- Malawi
- New Zealand
- Nigeria
- Pakistan
- Singapore
- South Africa
- Uganda
- Zambia
- Zimbabwe
Meta added India to that list on June 23, 2024, so it will likely open access to other countries. Specifically, the Philippines would likely have access because it is one of the countries with the most social media users.
Statista says the Pearl of the Orient will have 86.24 million users in 2024, putting it in ninth place among other countries. Consequently, Filipinos must prepare for AI in their daily lives.
