NIJISANJI Vtuber Group’s AYAKIKI is the official TOKYO LIGHTS 2024 ambassador

TOKYO, JAPAN – TOKYO LIGHTS 2024 will feature NIJISANJI’s Vtuber group AYAKIKI as its official ambassadors. 

TOKYO LIGHTS is a festival held at Meiji Jingu Gaien to send a radiant message to Tokyo to the world. This year marks its 4th, which will start from September 14 to 16.

Vtubers are 3D characters voiced by real-life content creators. They usually hold live online streams where they sing, dance, and chat with fans. Click on this other Inquirer USA article to learn more.

NIJISANJI is the largest Vtuber agency in Japan, and its latest group, AYAKIKI, will make its debut as the official ambassador of TOKYO LIGHTS 2024. Here are its members corresponding to the image above: 

  • Shiga Riko (Right) 
  • Tamanoi Nana (Left) 
  • Kisara (Middle-Left)
  • Kozue Mone (Middle-Right)
  • Lunlun (Center)

AYAKIKI will perform at the Opening Ceremony with their Special Opening Show. It will feature music from the following NIJISANJI titles:

  • AYAKAKI – “Xiao Xiao RanRan♪”」
  • ChroNoiR「Catch Fire」
  • ROF-MAO「Bring it on」

Also, TOKYO LIGHTS 2024 will feature cutting-edge light displays, such as the International Projection Mapping Competition.

It is a competitive showcase of one-minute to one-minute and 59-second projection mapping performances. Also, this year’s theme is Mirror, which will occur at the Meiji Memorial Picture Gallery at Meiji Jingu Gaien.

It received entries from 278 teams from 56 countries. The finals will have 18 contestants from 14 countries, and the champion will receive ¥2 million.

Popular TV host Harry Sugiyama and actress and co-host Aki Shibuya will lead the award ceremony on November 16.
