Gauzy AI driver assistance system for commercial trucks upcoming
Israel-based smart glass company Gauzy will reveal its upcoming AI driver assistance system (ADAS) for commercial trucks.
It will unveil the technology at IAA Transportation 2024 on September 17 to 22 at the Deutsche Messe AG venue in Hannover, Germany.
US automobile company Ford will integrate the system into specific models to boost their safety and fuel efficiency.

Gauzy’s ADAS uses a Smart-Vision camera monitor system (CMS) that gives commercial truck operators increased road visibility by eliminating blind spots.
It replaces any commercial truck’s front-, rear-, and side-view mirrors with high-quality interior displays and cameras on the vehicle’s exterior.

Its CMS maneuver mode prompts a camera to display on one of the interior screens. Consequently, the ADAS shows maneuver lines that display the truck trailer’s position and its edge.
As a result, this innovation offers more convenient and expedient maneuverability for truck drivers. Also, the increased movement efficiency could help cut carbon emissions.
The official press release says the AI-powered assistance system has collision avoidance/detection technology and a blind spot information system (BSIS).
The BSIS is a UN regulation standard that uses artificial intelligence to send real-time audio and visual alerts of potential hazards.
This tech standard prevents drivers from colliding with pedestrians, vehicles, and other obstructions. Consequently, it resolves limited visibility, one of the most dangerous aspects of commercial truck operations.

The AI driver assistance system adds further security by notifying drivers of suspicious movement around the vehicle.
It can mitigate theft and vandalism risks, giving drivers peace of mind when transporting expensive merchandise across long distances.
