CICC chief to speak at historic Global Anti-Scam Summit

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) Executive Director Alexander K. Ramos will be the keynote speaker at the Global Anti-Scam Summit on March 26 and 27 in London.

He will discuss the CICC’s success in preventing and suppressing online crimes.

The CICC became a runner-up in the institution category of the Global Anti-Scam Alliance’s (GASA) 2025 Scam Fighter of the Year Awards.

It has implemented various measures and has engaged different sectors in fighting cybercrime in the Philippines.

This honor highlighted over 10,000 government personnel and law enforcers that the CICC trained to fight digital crimes. 

Moreover, the Netherlands-based GASA welcomed Ramos as a member of the GASA Advisory Board for his “extensive experience in cybercrime investigation and policy enforcement.”

“Ramos brings valuable expertise in strengthening digital security and combating financial fraud,” GASA wrote on its official website and social media page 

“His leadership will help drive GASA’s global mission to protect individuals and businesses from evolving scam threats,” it added. 

The Ramos welcomed the GASA recognition and shared this message:

“Aside from following international benchmarks and standards in tools and training, we have also introduced other innovations and proofs of concept to protect Filipinos from scams and threat actors,” he said. 

“As scams become more sophisticated and transnational, we too shall do our best to introduce more innovations and engage a whole society to ensure a safe cyberspace,” he added. 

The Global Anti-Scam Summit aims to bring various governments and agencies to share knowledge and collaborate in protecting consumers from online schemes. 

The CICC accepts cybercrime complaints through its Inter-Agency Response Center Hotline 1326.
