US to train CICC, PH law enforcers on advanced digital forensics

TAGUIG CITY, PHILIPPINES — The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) partnered with the US-based National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) to provide advanced digital forensics training for CICC agents and law enforcers.

The week-long training will last from March 10 to 14 at the National Cybercrime Hub in Bonifacio Global City.

It will have around 30 participants from the CICC and law enforcement agencies like the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group.

“This regional training will provide Philippine law enforcers and regulators a better understanding of cybercrimes and how to acquire digital evidence,” CICC Executive Director Alexander K. Ramos said.

Moreover, it will boost their “success rate in the prosecution of cybercriminals,” he added. 

This training program aligns with the CICC mandate of coordinating cybercrime suppression and prevention.

By the end of the training session, participants will better understand legal and procedural standards for collecting and analyzing digital evidence. 

The NW3C is a congressionally funded non-profit corporation that trains state and local enforcement agencies in fighting economic and cybercrime issues. 

Also, it provides the general public with information and research on preventing these issues.

All NW3C Academy instructors received certification from the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST).
