Netizens react to Binay, village guards’ row

MANILA, Philippines—Netizens on Thursday virtually slapped Makati Mayor Jejomar “JunJun” Binay Jr. who ordered the arrest of three security guards of an exclusive subdivision in the city who refused to allow his convoy to pass through a restricted gate in the subdivision.

The Philippine Daily Inquirer reported that the mayor, on November 30, ordered the arrest of three security guards who denied them access to a restricted gate in Dasmariñas Village, Makati City. The story was based on a source privy to the incident and a CCTV footage, which was uploaded online.


Many who read the article and watch the CCTV video from were disappointed on the incident making #Binay a trending topic on twitter.
