Philippine culture in an app

MANILA, Philippines—Culture just got hip.

To keep up with the pace of the cyber-world and its young audience, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts is working on a mobile application meant to raise the cultural awareness of the Filipino youth, the Philippine Information Agency said  Tuesday.

NCCA Chair Felipe de Leon Jr., said that the group wants the app to feature video games and quizzes that “would excite the young generation.”

“Heightening the creative industry is also promoting this area to other countries that would generate livelihood,” de Leon said.

Apart from the app, e-books can be downloaded from the NCCA website about prehistory, peoples, and ethnicity differentiation in the country.
