Smiling Napoles on FB no smiling matter for netizens
MANILA, Philippines – A photo of alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles seen smiling while posing with an unidentified lady inside her hospital room drew angry reactions from netizens.
Social media was abuzz Friday with comments of how Napoles didn’t look like she was sick.
Michel Eldiy said Napoles was “a bit too cheery” in the photo and didn’t seem to be in a serious state.
Noem Lardizabal-Dado, meanwhile, said it looked like she was on her way to recovery.
Troy Zarate de Leon cited Napoles’ “almost dying” excuse to justify her continued stay in the hospital.
De Leon, however, said the photo spoke for itself, adding no special treatment should be given to her.
Other netizens called for Napoles’ return to to her detention cell at Fort Sto. Domingo in Laguna after undergoing surgery at the Ospital ng Makati in April.
Napoles’ transfer was stalled after Judge Elmo Alameda of Branch 150 of the Makati regional trial court granted the businesswoman’s petition to allow her to stay in the hospital longer.
