Smart, Globe apologize for disrupted services during papal visit

smart apologizesMANILA, Philippines—The country’s two biggest telecommunications companies have apologized to their subscribers for cutting mobile signal and internet connection during Pope Francis’ arrival especially in areas surrounding his motorcade route.

Globe telecoms said it is complying with the order of the government through the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).

Smart Communications, on the other hand, said the government order was “in the interest of public safety.”
