Espina’s crying at Mamasapano probe ignites Twitter

MANILA, Philippines – Police Deputy Director General Leonardo Espina, officer in charge of the Philippine National Police (PNP), earned the “respect and admiration” of netizens as he became a trending topic on Twitter Wednesday.

Espina turned emotional while recalling the brutal killing of the 44 members of the PNP Special Action Force (SAF) who were in a mission to take down wanted suspected Malaysian terrorist Zulkifli Abdhir in Barangay (village) Tukanalipao Mamasapano, Maguindanao last January 25.
